Mount Kilimanjaro, the largest free standing mountain in the world - just under 20,000 feet.

Hi my name is Bonner Paddock. I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my web page and learning more about my expedition, my disability and a cause I am passionate about. The reason I decided to take on such a challenge is to demonstrate that there are no limits to what people with disabilities can accomplish, and I want to inspire kids with cerebral palsy and other disabilities to push their own limits. I'm passionate about this because I have cerebral palsy. All I ever wanted when I was growing up was to be accepted and be treated the same as everyone else - I wanted to be "normal."

In 2006, I took on the challenge of training to complete my first marathon. On January 9, 2007, I completed that challenge by finishing my first marathon at the OC Marathon. Through the event I raised nearly $20,000 for UCP-OC programs and services.

I was recently honored when I received the UCP-OC "Life without Limits Award" at the UCP-OC Gala in October 2007. The award recognizes an individual who embodies and champions UCP-OC's vision of Life without Limits in a way that dramatically makes a difference in the lives of children in our community. During the Gala, I announced my next huge goal; I will climb to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa in September 2008 and I will strive to raise $250,000 to help launch the UCP-OC Early Childhood Learning Center.

A little crazy? Perhaps, but I do it for two reasons. First, to push and test the boundaries within my own life, and second, to raise money for a center that will allow children with disabilities to push the boundaries that life has presented them. UCP-OC's Early Care and Education Center will debut the first truly inclusive childcare/preschool in Orange County, a comprehensive therapy center, after-school care, and will provide art and recreation opportunities for children with disabilities.

The expedition to the 20,000 foot summit, which we have named the Climb Without Limits, will include a group of 10 climbers who are good friends of mine. Statistically, of those who attempt to make the entire climb, only 40% reach the summit.

All expenses related to the trip will be paid for by the climbers and we hope to get our equipment donated so that 100% of financial donations and sponsorships will directly support the development of the UCP-OC Early Care and Education Center.

I have the confidence that raising $250,000 is achievable, but I need your help to reach my goal! Please consider supporting my climb and efforts to help children with disabilities experience Life without Limits!

With appreciation,
